First of all, here is the program for the next few months.
“Connection is the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued”
When the leadership team met on 3rd January we started with an extended ‘check in’. We all shared how we were doing and our thoughts about Beachcomber. It took about an hour to get round the 7 of us but it really helped us connect as a team. We all felt seen, heard and valued. As Brené Brown says, there is real power in vulnerability. When we were working out the programme, we agreed to move away from our regular blog format some weeks to create space to deepen our connections with each other. That is were Q was born. Naomi and I have prepared 15 questions which will be printed out on cards to help conversation flow on Sunday night – they include various ‘check in’ type questions as well as some silly and deep ones. It goes without saying that it’s up to you which questions you answer and how much you share. Our hope is that we’ll be more comfortable to be vulnerable with each other as time goes on.
If you want to learn more about Brené Brown’s work I would thoroughly recommend this TED talk: The power of vulnerability | Brené Brown | TED
